5 Fun Halloween-Themed Activities

Here are 5 fun Halloween-themed activities around the Lower Mainland / Fraser Valley — everything from heart-pounding scares to family-friendly treats.

Reapers Haunted Attraction (Chilliwack)
  • Location: 9423 Gibson Rd, Chilliwack.

  • What it is: A seriously scary haunted maze (“Maze of Terror”) at a farm setting, with actors, corn-maze style corridors, darkness & jump-scares.

  • Why it’s cool: Great for thrill-seekers and local to the Fraser Valley.

  • Tip: Not for younger kids (site recommends over ~10+). Wear boots (can get muddy) and pre-book tickets.

  • Blog angle: A top “big scare” event in the region — perfect for readers looking for spooky adult/family outing.

Maan Farms Haunt / Halloween Fright Festival (Abbotsford)

  • Location: 790 McKenzie Rd, Abbotsford.

  • What it is: A large farm-based fall destination combining pumpkin patch / photo-ops and “haunted” corn maze adventures at night.

  • Why it’s cool: Offers something for both families (daytime pumpkin patch) and Halloween-horror fans (night mazes).

  • Tip: For the haunted part, expect higher ticket prices and more intense scares.

  • Blog angle: Offer this as a “mixed vibe” option – you can go early for family fun or later for the scares.

Willowbrook Shopping Centre (Langley)

  • Event: TRICK OR TREAT: Halloween at Willowbrook — on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

  • Location: 19705 Fraser Hwy, Langley, BC V3A 7E9.

  • What’s happening: Free, family-friendly trick or treating inside/around the mall. Kids in costume can pick up a treat tote and follow participating retailers collecting goodies.

  • Blog angle: A safe, fun indoor option for families — great if weather is unpredictable or you’re looking for something low-scare.

Spooktacular Newton (Surrey)

  • Event: Free street-festival style event on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
  • Location: Surrey, BC (137 Street between 72A Ave & 74 Ave) in the Newton neighbourhood.

  • What’s happening: Trick-or-treating, kids’ zone, mini-golf, face painting, food trucks, even a haunted train ride & pumpkins for charity.

  • Blog angle: A larger event with variety — good for families who want more than just trick-or-treating, maybe plan a full afternoon outing.

Cirque Costume Ball 2025 (Vancouver)
  • When & Where: Friday, October 31, 2025, 9 pm to 2 am at Science World (1455 Quebec St., Vancouver).

  • What to expect: A full-scale Halloween costume party: three music rooms across two floors, top DJs + live performers (aerialists, contortionists, LED dancers), and over 1,200 costumed attendees.

  • Why it’s a good pick: This event brings the big city nightlife vibe to Halloween — great for an adult-oriented option in Vancouver (vs the family-friendly ones in Fraser Valley).

  • Tip: Costumes are strongly encouraged (if not required), tickets sell quickly, and since it’s 19+ you’ll want to bring your ID. Central Vancouver location near transit.
