Surrey Residents: Free Waste Drop-Off Returns for Summer 2025
Surrey residents, it's time to declutter! The City of Surrey is bringing back its popular Free Waste Drop-Off program for a second year, running from May 5 to September 24, 2025. This initiative allows each household one free trip to dispose of up to 100 kilograms of waste, including up to four mattresses, at either the Central Surrey (6711 – 154 Street) or North Surrey (9770 – 192 Street) Recycling and Waste Centres.
Program Details:
-
Eligibility: One free drop-off per household; proof of Surrey residency is required.
-
Weight Limit: First 100kg is free; standard fees apply to any excess weight.
-
Accepted Items: Mattresses, clean wood, yard waste, and general garbage.
-
Vehicle Restrictions: Commercial and business vehicles are not permitted; however, rental vehicles are allowed.
In addition to this program, Surrey offers a year-round Large Item Pickup Service, allowing residents to schedule free curbside pickups for items like furniture and appliances. Households can book up to six pickups per year, or eight if they have a registered secondary suite.
These initiatives are part of Surrey's commitment to promoting sustainable waste management and reducing illegal dumping. Last year's program saw over 21,000 residents participate, responsibly disposing of more than 3,300 tonnes of waste.
